An agent-selection advisory

The right agent is rarely the loudest one.

Compare real estate agents on evidence — recent comparable sales, marketing scope, fees, and fit — before you sign anything, selling or buying.

Every agent says they're number one. We show you the evidence — so you can hire the number-one fit for your home, your market, and your situation, whether you're selling or buying.

How I work

No agent yet? We build the field.

Tell us about the home, the market, and what matters to you. We source candidates through brokerage networks, transaction data, and direct interviews — then present the two or three strongest fits with a side-by-side comparison. No additional cost to you; the hired agent's brokerage pays a standard referral fee at closing.

Have a name in mind? We benchmark them.

A neighbor's recommendation or a familiar name is a starting point, not a decision. We put your candidate through the same scorecard as agents we source, so you can see whether the comfortable choice is also the strong one — before you sign a listing agreement.

Already interviewed agents? We help you decide.

The hardest moment is holding three different proposals with three different fees, marketing plans, and pricing opinions. Our flat-fee Agent Evaluation Report normalizes what each agent actually offered so you can compare them line by line — and we get paid the same no matter whom you choose.

What you receive

Your Agent Match Report

Not a list of names — a side-by-side evaluation of the agents competing for your business, in the same terms, with a written recommendation.

Sample report — illustrative example, not real agents

Evaluation criteriaAgent AAgent BAgent C
Recent comparable sales nearby Strong Excellent Moderate

Pre-market & launch strategy Moderate Excellent Strong

Communication fit Excellent Good Excellent

How we'd read this one: Agent B looks strongest for a seller prioritizing preparation and a high-touch launch — the fee is higher, but it buys staging and prep the others leave out. Agent A's communication is a real asset, but your file would live with a team member. The report says this in writing, for your actual candidates, with the evidence behind every cell.

Bring your own candidates

Already interviewed Realtors? Perfect.

Send us the agents you're already considering — a friend, a referral, the names from your search. We put every one of them through the same scorecard we'd use on agents we source, and tell you in writing how they compare and whether anyone else is worth interviewing.

You don't have to use "our agents." You use our process. And because the evaluation is paid by a flat fee on this path, the analysis has no reason to steer you toward anyone.

By the numbers

  • 2–3vetted agents presented per match — never a directory dump
  • $0additional cost to you when we source and refer — the hired agent's brokerage pays the referral fee at closing, never you
  • 25–30%one uniform referral standard for every candidate — the fee can never pick the agent

The honest questions

Why not just…

Why not just ask a friend?

A recommendation is a great candidate — it just isn’t a comparison. We help you find out whether the friend’s agent actually matches your assignment, before the relationship makes the decision for you.

Why not Google "best Realtor near me"?

Search results reward visibility and ad spend. Suitability — recent comparable sales, the right property type, your price band — is a different question, and it’s the one that decides your outcome.

Why not hire the top producer?

Volume proves an agent wins business, not that they’ll do the best job on yours. Composition matters more: whose recent experience actually matches your home, and who works your file day to day.

Why not pick the lowest commission?

Fees matter — next to what they include. A cheaper rate that excludes staging and prep you’ll buy anyway can be the most expensive proposal on the table. We normalize them so the comparison is real.

Why not use my previous Realtor?

Absolutely include them — a good past experience is real evidence. It’s evidence about a different transaction, though, so we benchmark them against the field the same as everyone else.

Why not just decide myself?

You can — our scorecard and guides are published free, and plenty of readers never call. The service exists for when the stakes make a referee worth having.

Frequently asked

What does Agent Match Concierge cost?
It depends on who brings the candidates. When we source and refer the agents, there is no additional cost to you — if you hire one and close, that agent's brokerage pays Compass a standard referral fee (25–30%, the same for every candidate we present). When you bring your own agents and want them compared, the Agent Evaluation Report is a flat fee, quoted before we start — and because we're paid the same regardless of whom you pick, the report has no reason to steer you.
How is this different from HomeLight, Agent Pronto, or other matching sites?
Three ways. First, you see the evidence: a side-by-side comparison of each agent's recent nearby sales, pricing outcomes, marketing scope, fees, and communication — not names from a black box. Second, you can bring your own candidates; most matching sites only recommend agents from their own paying network. Third, every candidate we present operates under the same referral standard, so compensation cannot influence the recommendation.
How many listing agents should I interview before choosing?
At least two, ideally three. NAR's Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers has consistently found most sellers contact only one agent before signing — which means the decision is usually made by familiarity, not comparison. Interviewing three agents with the same questions is the single highest-leverage hour in your entire sale.
Can you evaluate agents I've already interviewed?
Yes — that's often the most valuable moment to bring us in. Send us the proposals or names you've collected and we'll produce a flat-fee Agent Evaluation Report: the same scorecard we use for agents we source, applied to your candidates, with a written recommendation and the reasoning behind it. You make the final call.
